So, HANSEL…

Before
”I don’t want to hear a word of protest, Gretel. You came here on your own, knowing everything you know; you’re mine and I will treat you how I will.”

Middle
”Want to say her name. To take her hand. I know for damn sure that she’s not asleep. Why won’t she talk to me?”

After
Beautiful Leah, older now but still herself. Even now, with her skin so pale and her eyes so big, my Leah is a fairy tale. A princess, like I used to tell her.

Review: Hansel, Part One by Ella James

Hansel, Part One (Hansel, #1)

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is dark and twisted… not so much as some previous stories I’ve read, well; at least not so dark until I’ve read so far.XD
Okay,we have 2 time jumps. One set over ten years ago and the present, and both sets are trying to tell us the deep( obviously) relationship that the main characters share.

So we have Leah, a 25 years old girl, with anxiety and I think some kind of addiction problems( I can’t determine addicted to what exactly, at least not yet) who is going with her sisters(triplets, mind you!) to her sister bachelorette party which is a sex show of BDSM in Las Vegas, but she’ll have a huge surprise when she realized that the famous, sexy and hot Dom is no one else but the boy who used to comfort her every single night over a year ( well, 17 months) while she was captured 10 years ago.

Now the thing here is that there was a psycho woman that her addiction for fairy tales went beyond borders, so she manage to capture kids that are very similar to her own deprived version of main characters of the fairy tales. The reader can only guess what she put the kids (yeah, kids. Around 15 to 17yrs old) through; even though this book hasn’t give any detail in particular…
So 10 years after every single kid got to escape, Leah still have issues facing something that triggered her memory of those awful events and when she comes to Her Hanzel she can’t stop herself of going to him. While Hanzel has found his very own way to deal with his own issues, now he’s a Dom (even though I haven’t read yet what triggered that on him, ‘cause apparently he wasn’t before), is a successful entrepreneur with a lot of money and the only one that can soothes him and make the pain go away is Leah… but given that he can’t have her… he’s satisfying himself with masked subs with almost their identical complexion in order to deseave his mind with the memory of her.

And goes beyond me, when Leah (the very and only one LEAH!) goes to the test to be his submissive for a year. Goes all hot and sweet with very light BDSM; and this idiot ( unles he’s more fucked up in the head than what I thoughtdoesn’t recognized her, even though he’s strongly attracted to her and make him do things, he’d never do before with any of his subs!!

So yeah! This book is crazy… translating : THIS IS GOOD!, There are some thing floating on the air, so I guess It will be tell on the rest of the books, it’s told by both characters POV, alternating in time line in order to get the whole panorama. Not so hot as I expected, but neither rough BDSM ( almost non existant, at least in this one). A really adult version of the tale:
• A house in the woods? -a rich mansion in the middle of no where
• Candy addiction ?-I’m guessing, it would be a total different addiction
• A witch?- this psycho goes under the name of Mother Goose, hello?
• Two lost kids?- two kidnapped kids

This is more than enough to keep me interested. I really want to know what the hell Hanzel would do when he realized that the woman he’s been thinking and craving over 10 years was in his arms, and he practically threw her away through his door after he just …err… had a taste of her?
This is reminding me lightly to the Dark Duet
