Review: Target on Our Backs

Target on Our Backs by J.M. Darhower

While doing the review, the book made me remember how much it made me laugh! Oh dear God the author messes with One Direction , which BTW I totally agree with Naz about them this was too funny as the first one, I’d dare to say that was funnier than the first one actually XD.

I mean :

"Karissa, baby, I love you. You know that. But do you honestly think, if I hadn't had other reasons, I would've even given you a second look?"
I blanch. "Ouch."

WTF?!Seriously? yeah we get it,you’re prince charming in shining armor and every girl fantasy but …come on!

GOSHHHHHHH! How the fuck can’t I love this man?!

"I haven't," I say. "But then again, I don't make a habit of ordering ice cream with my dinner."

"You should. You don't know what you're missing." She grabs another fry and dips it into her Frosty before holding it out to me. "Here, try it."

My natural instinct is to deny her, not because I think it might be tampered with, but because it frankly sounds disgusting. But I'm turning over a new leaf here, and I've already ended up at a fast food restaurant with my wife in her pajamas.

Why not humor her?

See ? for any guy that is reading this: WHY NOT HUMOR US?! Ha!!! You might get lucky after! XP

All this skipping class can't be good for your grades," he says. "So I guess we'll see if it's a problem when report cards come in."

I laugh at that. "What are you going to do, ground me?"
"No, but I might spank you."

"Promise?"

He stares at me.

Oh dear!!! I seriously considering taking older guys offers after this, older as in 10 years difference as top XD

"I married you, so it's sort of your job to give me a hard time."

I’m totally giving this book to my future hubby when he’s about to write his vows. REALLY! XD

Now let's not forget about the actual story yeah?
so the issues now they'll have to face as a couple?

besides Naz as a hubby?

"He's good looking… like, really good looking. I'm talking cover of GQ kind of good looking. It's like, wow…"

"If you're trying to get me to kill him, all you have to do is ask."

Gasping, I elbow Naz. "Not funny. I would never. I'm just saying…

Naz is jealousssssssssssssss! Love it !

Remember that we're talking about THIS Naz:

Among a lot of difficulties and hardhips...they'd always remain together, they're each other's half after all. XD

Love that was told by both POV, loved the plot even thought it could have gone a bot more ... Of action , maybe .
The tears were there just right in the rim of my eyes but, barely for a few seconds but they never got out, sooooo this was nice, sweet, passionate ...no so dark I think, but those dialogues...gosh!

Review: Torture to Her Soul

Torture to Her Soul by J.M. Darhower

okay, I know now that I seriously need to reorganize my schedule in order to not let go so much time to do my revs! seriously!

Okay Naz, everytime I come back to Naz it gives me a little warm and tickling sensation all over my body and I do remember that I loved this one, and til that point was my favorite from the whole story. I think it's still being my favorite one, though XD

For all of you guys that have read the firs book, then you're gonna get all mi little innnuendos 'cause I don't want to give the whole story away so let's just be ...general.

So, sweet, sexy rough NAZ met sweet, tender and innocent KARISSA, but for some reason we didn't discover til the very end of the first book, she was.....the forbidden fruit for him, but...

but here the book is from Naz whole POV, so this happened after he revealed the ugly truth to Karissa...so...

but as you can see, their feeling and the need for each other is so hard that they just can no resist being appart from each other, but given that hate is such a powerful feeling so difficult to just let go, ignore and leave it behind... they need to find their way out...

So finally getting pass the meaning of revenge:

For years I sought this blood—hunted it down so I could drain it, to stop the heart that beats it, to rid the world of that disgraceful bloodline. I never imagined one tiny drop would have such an affect, how her pain, no matter how trivial, would inflict that same sort of ache in me.

Finally together they can start to healing:

So looks like there IS light for both of them after everything they go through, and while still a bit ignorant to all the dangers that are still preying on them, they can stil go back to be part of a single soul:

Review: Monster in His Eyes

Monster in His Eyes by J.M. Darhower
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The plot didn't quite shock me, honestly guess I've read a few stories with a few similarities to this one... and apparently I'm gonna have to upgrade my age difference tolerance to at least 15 years and that's pushing me ha !

But love the development of the character, one so secretive and the other one just so desperately was looking out her freedom. Until He came along

showing her a freedom as never before...one that would never be able to turn away..

Throwing her out the loop , and not being able to diferentiate what's right and what's wrong...but only 'cause she was so focused on him that was firm in not realizing what he was actually doing.

but as always true feelings come in the path and...

and also the truth comes along, of course! leaving us all hanging by a thread and with ha freaking heart breaking in 2 !

so summing up: a gangster prince sort of walking this world searching his own vendetta until he comes to an obstacle? that he would not be able to surpass...'cause he will never ever would possibly want to let it (HER) go.

and a beautiful story inside of another:

Okay, frankly I would have gave it 3.8 to 3.9 so...4. Only because of those melting quotes from Naz

Now the books is 80% their chemistry, undeniable connection, their WTT- is too fast decisions and finally their love.
20% left is about the twist, which wasn't a great shocker...guess it was a soft one, might say.

Now why does she hate him and what wrong with her?!!! Wasn't she saying a few moments ago that (view spoiler)
She should be angry at the most because (view spoiler) but beyond of that? Maybe a bit afraid given that (view spoiler) , but not hate him, she doesn't have the right! Unless she's (view spoiler)

Review: Sparrow

Sparrow

wow this story was quite nice to read.

Yeah the book itself said that Troy and Sparrow story would be similar to the Beauty & the Beast, but honestly... I don't see quite huge similarities.

Troy , the son of a mobster king who has only ever known to bea fear and rule in order to get what he wants...so no....no chocolates & flowers coming from him in order to get a girl, he was a hell of a lot more practical.

Sparrow , the daughter of a pawn, a nobody, who suddenly came into a picture that neither she, or the readers would get until we get near the end.

A feisty innocent girl that knows very well what is her place, meaning...she knows that she can't stop yearning freedom...'cause that what she really is.

But well...kind of being an optimistic from heart here, so .....if the live gives you lemons, then...

So, a mobster prince that was used to get his way every single time he wants...was about to find his very own match!

And apparetly that would NOT be the only surprise that he'll find out.

And of course not theONLY ONE EITHER to find something new in the process...

so if you're wondering that as in the tale in this story were also new encountered feelings?,

well...see for yourself.

So Beauty & the Beast?

Not actually.

Troy was a guy born in the mafia knowing to do what he has always seen his entire life, but it's not as he has bloodied hands, 'cause really? I've read more darker characters than this one, besides he wasn't hateful to Sparrow, yeah he was a bit irritating but no like he was real cruel or anything... so that comment from B&B? no way fits here.

I quite enjoyed the story 'cause everything was actually about Sparrow just as the title suggests, and how the author can relates a symbolic figure in the book, with a character that would appear later and a feeling and also a lacking in some sort of way is just wonderful.

Loved all the fight & spirit in Sparrow.
