Monster in His Eyes by
J.M. Darhower
My rating:
4 of 5 stars
The plot didn't quite shock me,
honestly guess I've read a few stories with a few similarities to this one... and apparently I'm gonna have to upgrade my age difference tolerance to at least 15 years
and that's pushing me ha !
But love the development of the character, one so secretive and the other one just so desperately was looking out her freedom. Until
He came along
showing her a freedom as never before...one that would never be able to turn away..
Throwing her out the loop , and not being able to diferentiate what's right and what's wrong...but only 'cause she was so focused on him that was firm in not realizing what he was actually doing.
but as always true feelings come in the path and...
and also the truth comes along,
of course! leaving us all hanging by a thread and with ha freaking heart breaking in 2 !
so summing up: a gangster prince
sort of walking this world searching his own vendetta until he comes to an
obstacle? that he would not be able to surpass...'cause he will never ever would possibly want to let it (
HER) go.
and a beautiful story inside of another:
--------------------------------------------------------
Okay, frankly I would have gave it 3.8 to 3.9 so...4. Only because of those melting quotes from Naz
Now the books is 80% their chemistry, undeniable connection, their WTT- is too fast decisions and finally their love.
20% left is about the twist, which wasn't a great shocker...guess it was a soft one, might say.
Now
why does she hate him and what wrong with her?!!! Wasn't she saying a few moments ago that
(view spoiler)[ she was ok without father , that she didn't need him...so why now? When the man reappears in her life out of the blue...she blindly believes in him and doubts Naz!!!! He's right , he never lied to her, she chose not to connect the dots, sand besides if she loves him as she proclaims...so why is she doubting him?!!!! Grrrrr (hide spoiler)]
She should be angry at the most because
(view spoiler)[ he used her to get to her parents, (hide spoiler)] but beyond of that? Maybe a bit afraid given that
(view spoiler)[ his original plan was to kill her (hide spoiler)] , but not hate him, she doesn't have the right! Unless she's
(view spoiler)[ blaming him for going without father all her life! But I'm going to say no, she's not 'cause she isn't fond of him a bit...so the only thin besides if it she could possibly blame him is that she lived a nomad life with her mother...just that! Nothing beyond of that....okay that might pissed her a hell of a lot. But hate him....? spoiler>
He never lied to her, never hurt her, he only acted out of protection toward her!!! (view spoiler)[ he pardoned her mother's life (hide spoiler)] because of HER!!!!
Seriously he's the one with the right to hate HER and (view spoiler)[ her family (hide spoiler)]
And do you realize that of nothing of this would have happened and they would have still being friends then...(view spoiler)[ and Naz would have ended up having a son, Karissa would have, probably , ended up being his daughter in law!!! do you realize of that?!!! he has her father's age!!!!
I'm stunned by the twist of things at the end and flabbergasted trying to figure out why the primal hate coming out of HER?!!! I seriously don't get it!
Get pissed, make him beg, don't talk to him, beat him IDK, but if she really loves him...well f*ck guess Naz is right, given that Karissa doesn't know herself... She cab only hate him 'cause she loves him...two faces of the same coin, right?
The book has picked on my weak point...my curiosity!
But you know the plot was more about a,love relationship, with no great twists or kinks...the hot scenes not so great...but the words coming out of that guy....sh*t I think I've highlighted the entire book.
Full review to come, as soon my baby laptop is back on roll! (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]
