Carter, Claire and Gavin have formed the perfect little family. Their friends are getting married and everyone is growing up, maturing and ready to face the future. Or are they? From bachelorette party hell, porn addictions, dinner roll baseball and botched wedding proposals to finding out everyone's extended family is chock full of crazy, Carter and Claire begin to question the strength of the ties that bind them. Unfortunately, these ties have nothing to do with fuzzy handcuffs and everything to do with the mounting differences between them. Will their friends make a mess of things with their inappropriate comments and need to know everything, or will they convince the couple that happily-ever-after sometimes really can start with beer pong?MY REVIEW: Futures and Frosting by Tara Sivec
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Okay I think I’m writing this review with teary eyes and a huge smile plastered on my face, and trying to figure out if I'm typing this correctly due to how excited and happy I currently am.
Certainly I did take my time to read this one, It wasn't my original intention to read it at such a low pace, but OMG I’m not regretting it; this reading just a few pages of this book per day, really improves someone’s day!
So the plot is not complicated at all, besides the only constant pity the reader has for Carter and his failed attempts to propose to Claire, and sorry and envy a the same time of how Drew and Jenny spend almost the entire length of the book, making everyone’s lives a living crazy psycho and funny hell. XD
This reading is basically a LOL reading, seriously people if someone ever, feels down or anything and they need their fix of happiness and you don´t have anyone around who can make it up to you.. this is the ideal book for you. I’m never taking it out off my phone's library, you hear me? NEVER EVER!
And the most amazing thing, is that the author actually gives us life lesson through all the teary laughs she makes us goes through!
I love Carter, I love Claire, I love Jim, Liz, Drew, Jen, Gavin, George, Claire’s mom and little Sophie!!! I love them all from the bottom of my heart ! Why they can’t be real?!! That’s not fair at all!! I’m really tremendously and immensely touched by these characters, their stories, all the situations they go through… For god´s sake!! How many people can go through meeting your husband’s granny while calling her names and trying to kick her out of cab?!!! And the astonishing thing is that she actually pulled it through!, and lets not forget the whole FB hangover in you future mother in law profile page!!!!!
With this book there’s only being two emotions the entire time:
Laughing myself out to the point I’m hanging from my bed, or stopping of walking suddenly and coughing for air, while someone asks me if I’m okay or need any pills?
Or just open mouthed, gasping and saying out loud -while grabbing my pillow, dog or actually anyone who happens to be around me - AWWWWWW!!!
“ I want to marry Mommy. We’ll kiss and we’ll marry and I’ll take her on dates and we will best friend forever and make lots of phone calls with each other”
Until something happened and I started laughing histerically again!
“Phone calls? Do you mean you’ll call your mommy a lot when you’re older? ”
“No, we’ll make phone calls like Mommy and Daddy do when they go into their bedroom and lock the door and yell and make weird noises” Gavin replies
BTW: Best proposal EVER!( well at least as far as I’ve been reading XD)
And seriously people that person is still a kid!!!
”Well, I Googled ‘kids swallowing pennies’ and you’d be surprised how many hits I got,” Liz says.”Anyway, as long as the penny was made before 1982, he’ll be fine.”
“It’s fine Claire. I used my metal detector on him and the penny wasn´t there,” George stated.
“You’re kidding me, right? You know there’s this fancy thing called a hospital you can go to, don’t you?” she asks.
And I’m not even starting with Claire’s description of a vagina after giving birth!! seriously!! the comment of the flashlight it really took my whole air away!
